The Harrison Coal & Reclamation Historical Park will be holding the 27th Annual Harrison Coal & Reclamation Historical Park Dinner-Auction May 8th, 2021 at the Hopedale Social Hall 103 Firehouse Lane Hopedale, Ohio. Doors will open at 4pm, the dinner will be at 5pm followed by the auction at 7pm. Our meal will be chicken, beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, noodles, green beans, salad, desert and drink. Following the meal, there will be a short program, induction of officers, a Chinese auction and Live  auction. Two big auction items will be our Dave Barnhouse paintings, one called “Old Friends” a limited addition and the other “The Pike Inn” just recently completed. Many grew up around this well known bar/restaurant on the Old US Rt.22 between Hopedale and Bloomingdale, OH. Known for its steaks and pasta, was originally owned by the Gentile family and then Blanche and Dominick Topazio owned and operated it for 31 years. It was closed in the mid 1990’s but the building still remains today and brings back many memories. The portrait on canvas shows the Pike in the 1940’s as it looked then. There will also be shovel and mining pictures, coal glasses, Hanna Magazines, mugs, hats, carbide lamps, patches, other mining and non mining related  items. Our usual items t-shirts, hats, mining photos, door prizes and the always popular 50/50. Tickets are on sale now $20 per person through park members or by sending a check or money order, to the HCRHP at 143 S. Main St. Cadiz, OH 43907. For information, reservations, donate items for auction & door prizes contact 740-937-2461, 740-942-3895, or 740-391-4135 or email info@hcrhp.org.  www.hcrhp.org, www.coalpark.org, and www.facebook.com/hcrhp.
